apple sauce day

With the help of Papa, Tutu and Mom we got 140 quarts of applesauce canned today. Papa, Rolo and I found that we could can 121 quarts at a time in the maple syrup pan which speeded things up considerably. Needless to say we were thankful when the day was over.....

and the sun was set. We are looking forward to seeing our family in a few weeks.

It looks like Rollo is being quite helpful.

One more day of sauce making and we will be done for this year. And likely you can taste the fruits of our labors at Thanksgiving. If mom wins the majority will travel south with us but I'm a little worried about the springs in our car.

nov 15, another 142 quarts today so the total for the two days is 282 quarts or a bit over seventy gallons. there are a few apples left but I think they will go to feed the deer. Thanks to Penners Livesays and Spragues for the apples as they were all free to us this year.
